Who: Jennifer Hill and Kyle Thomas
What: Jen gets her message across to the JL in a very effective way.
When: Tuesday, late afternoon. October 5, 2010 (Sideway's World)
Where: The Law Office masquerading as the JL's HQ in Los Angeles, CA.
Warnings: Violence, language, AU character death.
OOC Note: The main log is between Kyle and Jen to keep this relatively short and sweet, but for the sake of reference Tawny and some NPC villains did go with her and it's probably safe to assume other JL members could have been a part of or at least witness to the events that are about to unfold. (Non-evil!Jen apologizes profusely for this and will make 'I'm sorry' cookies until the end of time. Uh, after this week.)
Jennifer had had enough. There were very few people left and only a small number of resistance groups out there still standing in the way of CORE's complete and total control over the reincarnate community. This pesky little band of super geeks? Was one of them, and a particularly annoying thorn in her side. Judging from the way Queen seemed to think it was smart to mouth off to her in public, Jen felt it was finally time to show them just how much smarter she really was. So far they'd managed to stay out of her way and keep to themselves, masquerading as upstanding citizens when she knew the truth only too well. After all, she had a do-gooder superhero herself making a nest in her brain. She knew how these heroic types thought. If they had a head quarters for conducting their real business, it was largely unknown, but that wasn't the only way she could penetrate them. They were smart, but Jen was smarter. It was time to send them a real message. One that would stick.
It really wasn't rocket science figuring out where she was more then likely to find them. Even in these times upstanding citizens had places of work, and real identities. If they thought she wouldn't be able to pick them out of a crowd, they were dead wrong. She was Superman. And she had a lot more going for her then just brute strength on her side. Sensitive hearing, x-ray vision, speed and flight all played a part in her inevitable deduction of most of the people in that group, and it helped that she'd known a few of them before she'd gone over to the winning side. Like Kyle. The ever elusive Batman who was no doubt a part of this group as much as he was an important figure in it. He was Batman after all, even in this life he still stood for something. And it was Jen's aim to finally sweep his feet out from under him, once and for all.
There was a law office in Los Angeles that upon numerous inspections seemed to house quite a few of the do-gooding superheroes Jen had come to know and loathe. She'd been biding her time but now, now she was ready to strike. She was either bringing them in or bringing them down, either way suited her really. She already knew which way her partner in crime preferred. Tawny Strange was a valuable asset and one of the few people aside from the notorious Cary Clarke who Jen actually counted as a friend. They were more then just allies to her, just as Remy was much more then a fun way to pass the time. People said the dark Superman didn't have a heart, but she did, though it extended to very few. Her friends were constantly in danger of these irritating rebels, and if she could do something to assure that they'd never even think they could get the upper hand, well. Who was she to turn down such an opportunity?
It was approaching late afternoon when Jen and her equally villainous counter part approached the building. It was only a few minutes later that the female Superman was able to visually locate what part of the building Kyle Thomas would be in, and it seemed a few of his friends were on the same floor with him. How fun, Jen did love a good show. Ten minutes later, unsuspecting clients and lawyers alike were alarmed to see and hear a small girl of no more then 5'7" crashing through the roof. There were pieces of ceiling everywhere and to the astonishment of those that didn't immediately run in the other direction, the small figure that had crashed to the floor in a crouch got up without a problem, like she hadn't been hurt at all. She hadn't. Jen smiled wickedly, casually brushing some plaster off her shoulders as her dark eyes swept through the room. Ah. There he was. "Sorry I didn't call ahead. I assume you accept drop-in appointments?"
