Who: Hunter Williams (and Juliet Pierce if you want her to reply, otherwise it can be a narrative)
What: The Game's Afoot
When: Saturday Afternoon
Where: Nashville
Hunter had heard the news about the theft at the Tower of London. It was interesting, yes, but not precisely the crime of the century. Holmes intended to follow it, naturally. Hunter didn't much care one way or the other. What did it matter to me if a defunct monarchy had one less shiny toy?
(He and Sherlock had regular disagreements on the value of government figureheads. In essence it boiled down to the detective being uncertain about being stuck in a Yank, and Hunter being offended at being called a Yank when he was clearly south of the Mason-Dixon line. From there the conversation never went anywhere productive.)
Murder was different. That got his attention. An employee of the Tower had been killed and left on the doorstep of 221A. That was no coincidence. It was either an insane fan or an old enemy come back with a grudge. The first possibility would be far too convenient, but he wouldn't rule it out without evidence. He needed evidence, which meant going to the scene.
It wasn't half an hour after reading the article that Hunter was on the road, headed for the nearest MTN. He had a stop to make first though. He pulled the old pick-up into the small lot at the Reincarnate Clinic. He should like to have Watson along for this.
