Josia was a generally a passive man. He liked to delegate, and he especially liked to see the plans he imagined come to fruition through the hands of his minions. It gave him a certain satisfaction, being a mastermind who barely lifted a finger and never did his own dirty work, but this... this was a plan he'd told no one. This was something he had to do himself. The war was simmering quietly on the back-burner for most reincarnates, but that was no longer enough. His small but dedicated band of fugitives were running out of things to do, waiting impatiently to be unleashed. He felt the need to oblige them.
Finding Matthew Morgan's penthouse was easy – getting into it was more of a challenge, but after a week of careful and constant observation, he recognized an opening when he saw one, and he took it. Around 3:00 AM on Friday, the nightwatchmen scuttled off to the bathroom; Josia let himself inside and calmly took the elevator to the top floor. He used a key he'd pickpocketed off of Morgan's youngest daughter to enter the former leader of Camelot's safe haven. Inside, every room was dark, save for one: the study. So Morgan was going to make this easy for him. Excellent.
Slinking through the darkness, Josia pulled out his handgun and attached a silencer to it. He didn't hesitate as he entered the study – in fact, he was so quick and quiet that it took a moment for Morgan to notice him.
The older man jumped up from his desk with open-mouthed shock, and Josia raised his gun. "I'm sorry about this," he said evenly. "I'll be sure to send my condolences."
He fired. Matthew Morgan sank to the floor, a small stream of blood running directly between his eyes. Josia set the gun on the floor and left the penthouse as quickly as he'd come. He was already out of the building when Morgan's daughter found her father's dead body and screamed. Her name was Alexandra, but he tried not to think about that. Instead, he focused on what was important.
Josia Hughes had just started a war. He'd never been so happy in his life.
