Adam was nostalgic by nature, not by choice. His mind often lingered on objects of the past - some good, some bad, some regrettable, but it was not a habit he professed to. There were things often weighing down the eldest, and now only, Leroy brother, and since Lee Adama entered the picture, these weights have only grown heavier.
He remembered scents and scenes, feelings and whispers, all that were not his own, but Lee's. He dreamed the most vivid of dreams, consistently waking up to cold sweats and irrational fears he couldn't put a reasoning to. Above all of this imagery, however, the most detailed memory of Lee Adam's just so happened to be of the Battlestar Galactica, and the pilot Kara Thrace. Adam knew everything Lee once felt for Kara, what he was still feeling, and the elation he could feel knowing that Kara was alive once more. When Kacey Tailor, the very reincarnate of Kara Thrace, expressed the news that the beloved Galactica was just out of reach, waiting for them to discover it - no part of him, and certainly no part of Lee, could resist.
When Adam sat down within the cockpit of his Viper - which he now keeping under lock and key in a private airplane garage of his father's just north of his home - everything flooded back. He ran the length of his fingers over every button, each control, and for the first time, in such a long time, he smiled a broad, truthful smile. Adam flipped on the power, his movements echoing those Lee had not performed in what felt like eternity. "Well, frak me," Adam said aloud. Sure enough, the faintest glimpse of DRADIS contact had been made.
The helmet slipped onto his head with ease - it was the jumpsuit, however, that baffled him before entering the Viper. Lee Adama originally stood at a shorter height than himself, so finding it fit him just right in all the important places caused a slight widening of surprise in his eyes. With everything alight and ready to go, Adam swallowed. Remember to breathe. Keep your eyes peeled. And whatever you do, he could hear the amusement in Lee's tone as he drove forward against the lengthy runway for take-off, don't let her get ahead. I would hate to have to fly this thing myself.
"Are you sure you don't-" As if Lee could predict the sentence, his hands took sudden control of the Viper, and the nose was already headed toward the sky. "I'll take that as a yes!" He shouted.
