A meeting of brother and sister and two strangers... Who: Evelynn Dossick and Zachary Ström What: Finding each other after one week for one and years for the other Where: Zac's foster home in Seattle, Washington When: Friday afternoon Other: Be warned for potential heartbreaking. This kid is too adorable for words.
It had been a long and stressful week. In fact, it felt like it was even longer, as if the past month was all just a blur of hearing voices in her head, of her fears of ending up like her mother Of secrets that she kept from her aunt and uncle, even her brother, the one person she didn't keep any secrets from. There was the Agency man who had come to visit her, even with him coming to speak to her in the flower shop. Of course she had to convince her aunt that it was some guy she was seeing right now, which only really added to the pile of guilt that was building up in her stomach, ever since Simon had come and added to the pile.
But it wasn't all bad. She had talked to Clem. Clementine. Who was Kaylee somewhere in there, and who Simon still longed for. He had wanted to go see her, to meet her, and the fact that Kaylee was in a girl... that did make things complicated. Complicated in the fact that there was the part of herself that she still didn't let out, but Clem and Kaylee might change all of that. If she was strong enough to come out with it.
But now this boy. Zac. And not just Zac, it was River, and of course as soon as they had made the connection (and being them, Simon was so used to how she was that it only took them a little bit to realize fully that it was River), Simon was in full on protective brother mode. So now she had drive up from Santa Monica to Seattle, hours long car ride, but it was worth it. It would be worth it. She knew she could have used those MTN things, but her car was stable enough that she didn't mind the drive, though Simon insisted on her using a lead foot most of the way.
But then, as she pulled into the driveway of the address she was given, and she got out of her car, fingers tightly clenching the piece of paper with the name and address, she ran fingers through her hair, hoping that she made a good first impression at the least, as she walked up the slight incline to the door, trying to calm down her racing heart.
