Claire felt a little bad about not saying anything to the guys about inviting Raff until now. In her defense, after she'd invited Raff and had the thought that she should probably also ask the guys, she promptly forgot. It wasn't her fault! She'd been distracted by... something.
She was pretty sure she'd been distracted by something. That's what usually happened in situations like this.
Anyway, didn't matter because Raff was here now, so hopefully everyone would just get along! It occurred to her too late that getting along might not be the most likely outcome of tonight, but Dillon's initial reaction was already promising. Now she just had to convince Ash that Raff was harmless enough to let into his house. Total piece of cake!
Rushing to the door and opening it, face flushed with excitement, Claire suddenly felt ridiculous in her bright orange Jack-o-Lantern sweater. That wasn't at all going to help Raff not think of her as a kid. Not that she cared what he thought of her! It's just that he was, you know, an older vampire. And she was... Claire. Léon's little sister. Emphasis on little. Okay, so sue her, she wanted to seem more grown up to the much more worldly vampire. Was that really so bad? Don't tell her if it was.
"Raff, hi! You made it." Greeting him warmly, Claire ignored Ash's strangled voice as he repeated the word, "Vampire?" in the background for the second time since Dillon had confirmed Raff's existence on the other side of the door. Two seconds later and Ash was standing next to Claire, peering at Raff and the half full bottle of alcohol warily.
"Ash, can you invite him in? Wait-" Claire turned back to Raff curiously, blonde hair flying every which way with the force of the movement. "Do you need to be invited in? The rules are different for every vampire."
