Beatrice/Freddie/Ellie/Open
Freddie had never been too crazy about Camelot's solstice parties, if only because they were maybe the closest to feeling like something from Arthur's own experience. There was a lot that Freddie had grown to accept about being the reincarnate of Arthur Pendragon since they'd joined minds, and even more that he'd accepted despite that, but his biggest secret was that he still wasn't truly comfortable in his own skin.
Might have something to do with the fact that his older brother had been Arthur first and Michael had been, you know, blown up. That would make anyone hesitant to wear the crown shaped mantel, and Freddie had never exactly had a choice in it. Having family around was a huge help, though. Always had been. That was more then enough of a reason to not completely hate gatherings like this one. For all of Freddie's personal discomfort, Camelot was still home to him as much as it was Arthur's, and at least he had his whole family here with him.
Well, most of them.
In particular he had Ellie, his twin and forever partner in crime who he could always count on to be by his side, through thick and thin and also when he really needed another person to pull off a prank. This one wasn't exactly good or very original, but ink in the punch bowl and edible glitter in the trays of food? C'mon. It was a classic.
Ellie had been on distraction duty while Freddie finished inking the punch (it wasn't going to hurt anyone, it was totally digestible ink, it would just turn people's teeth funny colors and be totally hilarious) and now they'd moved onto the food where they were deploying a healthy amount of glitter into a tray of desserts that dissolved right into the icing. It was genius, really. No one would see it until it was too late, and you know what they say about glitter. It gets everywhere.
The sound of a crash confused him at first, while also causing him to jump a little and spill the tube of ink. Cursing, Freddie looked at his own ink covered fingers now and shoved the tube at Ellie. "Quick, hide this," he muttered, looking around wildly to make sure they hadn't been seen. Usually they were the ones making the noise, so what the heck was going on? Not a question that needed answering once he caught a glimpse of their own aunt standing on the opposite end of the long table while a poor, unsuspecting member of Camelot looked on in horror. Freddie's face split into a wide grin as he called out to her. "Nice landing, Aunt Bea!"
