Zane/Daniel
Zane had always loved Midsummer at Camelot. He'd loved the very first time he'd been part of the celebrations and, even though it probably should have gotten a little old over the years, it had never quite lost its charm. Part of it was that it, like so many other parts of Camelot, had been so much more like Vanyel's life than his; back then, that had been everything that Zane had been looking for. It hadn't taken long for Camelot to be somewhere that felt more like home than the place he'd grown up ever had and Zane was deeply fond of every single bit of it. Even the parts of it that were a little bizarre. Especially the parts that were a little bizarre, and there were a whole lot of those parts to be fond of when it came to Camelot.
So. There was that. And then there was the fact that Zane had never turned down an excuse for a party in his adult life and he wasn't about to start now. Magics had a lot of work to do when it came to setting up, but aside from a little maintenance as the day went on (almost without a thought, he lit the wick of a candle that had sputtered out—he wasn't much good at Firestarting, but he could at least manage that much) he was mostly free to relax and enjoy the fun. Even better, he was free to enjoy the fun with his boyfriend, aside from Daniel's own official duties... and there were none of those at the moment, which meant that he was all Zane's.
"Good to take a break outside, honey?" Zane slid his hand into Daniel's, lacing their fingers together. That was another kind of little thrill that hadn't worn off yet, that Zane was pretty sure would never wear off: being able to take Daniel's hand pretty much any time he wanted to, knowing that no matter how long they had to part for some kind of official business or other it'd still feel the exact same way the next time he was able to do it again. Zane knew exactly how disgusting they were, and if he hadn't then his entire department would've made to tell him, but he didn't give a shit about any of that. He'd turned into the kind of person he might have made fun of once and he loved every second of it. "Get some fresh air, see the grounds before they get flooded by everyone lookin' for a place to make out?"
Which may or may not have been a suggestion. Zane wasn't going to say no if Daniel was so inclined. Again, disgusting and honestly pretty fucking happy about it.
