Holly had grown up just a couple hours outside of Los Angeles so she'd spent most of her rebellious teenage years ditching school to catch a bus to Hollywood and sneaking into clubs she was definitely too young for. That Holly felt like an entire lifetime ago, and so did that Los Angeles. In just the last ten years the city had become almost unrecognizable, but she probably had too. Sometimes she wondered if any of her friends from the scene would even recognize her if she ran into them today.
To be honest, Holly didn't have a whole lot of very clear memories of her time in the greater Los Angeles area as a scene kid, so maybe it would have looked like a different city to her regardless. It could also be because her entire set of priorities had changed, and the places she used to haunt weren't even on her radar anymore. Now, she liked to go to museums, visit art galleries. She didn't know a thing about art but she still liked to look at them, and besides, there was usually free food. When she went to concerts it was to actually hear the music instead of to try and get as fucked up as she could in two hours, and of course, most of her days were pretty occupied with dance now, or being a Young Avenger.
After putting in a couple hours at the gym, Holly jumped in the shower and texted Erik to hang out, seeing as how there was usually a good bet he was in the area since REDO's studio home base was in Los Angeles. They'd made plans to meet at the Santa Monica boardwalk, but Holly still had a little time to kill once she'd gotten there so she wasted a few minutes walking along a stretch of beach. Living in San Diego, every beach was pretty much the same, but there was just something about the smell in the air that re-centered her, quieted some of her more chaotic thoughts and made her feel almost peaceful. Only the smell of it, though. Holly had never been much for actually getting in the water. Way too cold. She preferred dry land with the ocean at a respectable distance.
It was just getting warm enough that Holly could be comfortable in shorts again, choosing comfort over style for the day though if they ended up going somewhere nice, she had a back up outfit in the duffel bag currently slung over her shoulder that also carried her bow and a quiver full of arrows, the one thing she never left home without. Finally making her way up to the graffiti covered sidewalks, she spotted Erik walking toward her and waved, strategically stepping out of the path of a couple oncoming skateboarders and clasped a hand to her chest as he got closer, pretending to be star struck. "Oh my god, no way, are you Erik von Brandt? Can I get your autograph?"
