Who: Seth Kane and Aidan Murphy
What: Seth's got plans with a dreamer...
Where: A back road outside of Jackson
When: Sunday, February 10; afternoon
Warnings: TBD
A year and three months ago, Aidan had been the best friend that Seth had and that had been the biggest and brightest thing in Seth's entire miserable life. That was counting reincarnation; after all, it wasn't like he'd done anything with Adam and all the baggage that came with him, except for one night of trying on being a magician for size. It'd been alright, but it hadn't been the same as having someone who liked him, who had picked him out of everyone else around that he could have been friends with instead. A year and three months ago that had been more than enough for Seth... but then, a year and three months ago, he'd found out about Ronan and the world had gotten bigger.
Ten months ago they'd stumbled on Fitz on the side of the road and letting one more person in made the world expand exponentially. Fitz had brought possibility with him, heavy in the air and a thick coating on Seth's tongue. Four months ago he'd moved himself right into town and right into the middle of their lives and the coasting they'd been doing suddenly seemed like not nearly enough, anymore. It wasn't Glendower, with Fitz, but he had his own quest, his own ideas that opened the world outside of Jackson up enough that suddenly Seth could see the light coming in more than he ever had before. He hadn't been sure if he liked it, then.
Now, Seth was sitting on the side of the road in Aidan's car with his deck of Tarot cards in hand, shuffling through them idly while Aidan made himself comfortable. He still wasn't sure if he liked it, or if he was ready for it, but everything kept rolling forward whether Seth was ready or not. He might as well roll with it instead of letting it roll right over him the way he had with everything else before Aidan.
"We don't have to do this," he told Aidan anyway. It wasn't him that was doing the dangerous part of this. It wasn't him that was really risking something. Dreaming... it could be dangerous. He knew that because Adam knew that, because Adam had watched Ronan's pain and suffering.
Adam also knew that it was a part of Ronan that couldn't be denied. Seth was still coming to grips with that, about Aidan. Over a year later and it still didn't seem real sometimes, that Aidan could possibly be tied to him in this way that neither of them could ever sever. His hands stilled, cards clasped between them. They didn't even have a specific goal in mind. They'd just... wanted to see.
