Who: Connor Shepherd and Olivia Shepherd What: Surprise trick or treat! Shenanigans abound Where Olivia’s apartment in DC. When: Backdated to Wednesday 31st evening. Warnings: Sibling shenanigans…Probably nothing dangerous.
Considering the line of work his sister was in, Connor really should have spent more time checking that she’d actually be at home. She frequently wasn’t and he really didn’t want to be stuck in DC on his own for the night, but if he was he’d make the most of it. Walking up the stairs, he avoided elevators where possible, Connor buried his hand into the white shock of fur at his companion’s neck. There was a comfort in Ghost, a solidness that made his worries slip away. Even if Olivia wasn’t home he had the direwolf with him and a whole city full of people to scare the heck out of if he so wished. If not, he was sure he’d be able to find a bar or two. Either way, it was Olivia he wanted to see tonight. He might have some kind of extended family now that he’d announced himself as a Reincarnate, but he didn’t know them from Adam yet and after his wondrous introduction to Robb, or Liam as he was now known, he wasn’t keen to repeat the experience just yet.
Out of the remaining family, he was closest to his sister which wasn’t exactly saying much. She was the only one available. James had fucked off somewhere into hiding and still hadn’t emerged. He couldn’t exactly blame him after the witch hunt the whole thing turned into but it would have been nice to find at least some kind of communication to prove that he hadn’t dropped off the face of the earth. It seemed to be a big ask. Thankfully Olive hadn’t taken the same nosedive into infamy and a life on the run. He was thankful for that. She was solid. He needed her to remain that one constant in his life other than the broken city of Boston. They may have rebuilt and repaired what remained but the shadow of the terrorist attacks loomed large in the background. It was part of the reason he had decided to celebrate this Hallowe’en outside of it and obviously, Olivia was the logical choice. She was just…yet to find out that this was the case.
“C’mon Ghost, almost there,” He murmured as he increased his pace up the next few steps. The heavy door opened onto the corridor outside and he was only held up briefly as his poor quality replica of Longclaw caught on the frame and pulled him back. Disentangling himself he moved down the corridor until he was outside his sister’s door. It was at this point he paused, pulling his cloak closer around his neck and set a dour expression upon his face. He snapped his fingers at Ghost who looked at him sharply before sitting at his side. Not so much obediently, it was more that the wolf was now used to this behavior and recognized that they would be stuck there for a while if he didn’t at least pretend like he was paying attention to commands. Connor could be stubborn. Satisfied that he looked morose enough, he knocked at the door and waited patiently until it opened. At which point he lost all pretense of being brooding and broke into a grin.
“Trick or treat! Surprise Livvy!” He yelled out. Ghost huffed and stood up again, walking himself in a circle, seemingly despairing of the company he kept.
