Scott Morgan || Gendry ([info]soldarmor) wrote in [info]thereincarnates,
Re: Liam/Scott
Scott was a social butterfly. It wasn't something he had ever tried to hide or be ashamed of, but it also wasn't something he thought about very often. For the most part, he made his rounds talking to people and laughing obnoxiously loudly because he enjoyed it. It was how he lived most of his life, with the idea that if he didn't enjoy what he was doing, what was the point? Life was too short, there were dragons afoot, all that normal bullshit. He was going to take life's pleasures while he could, judgment be damned.

But even as social as he was, there was always one person he was drawn to the moment he was in a room. Liam wasn't as loud as the others, didn't command attention by yelling for it the way a lot of people did from Scott (especially as the alcohol flowed) but it was just natural for a spotlight to be on him for Scott. He was far more intriguing than anybody else there that night, even with what felt like thousands of people being there. And sure, Scott was in formal wear instead of the armor he felt most comfortable in, but that wouldn't stop him. The only reason he was even held up as much as he was just then was because the woman in front of him kept grabbing his arm to bring his attention back to her. Eventually he was able to excuse himself with a grimace and an excuse that somebody was calling his name (they weren't), but the little bit of a lie was worth it.

He came up behind Liam just in time to see the servant preparing to pour him more wine, and never one to miss the opportunity for a fun entrance, took the serving jug from the man with a finger to his lips to require the other man to keep it a secret between them. The servant moved on to help somebody else, and Scott began pouring the dark red liquid into the goblet Liam had set aside.

"You know," He said with a smirk once the goblet was filled, crouching down so that he could speak at a whisper but still be heard. "You go too hard with this stuff and next thing you know you're joining the musicians in a rendition of the Bear and the Maiden Fair..." Scott moved to pull a chair up next to Liam, ignoring the tradition of sitting where the seats were in favor of moving it to where he wanted it. Tradition was good for some things, but for most he liked to think the tradition could go stick itself up a monster's ass. "Not that I wouldn't pay to see that..."
