Few things in life gave real pleasure to Frau Pappas. There were, however, a couple things that she took great satisfaction from and right at the top of that list included laying down curses on people. Even better was when she could curse their children and watch them fret over everything going to hell and most of the time their family line dying with the curse for whatever reason. How annoying then, then she had found that at least two of her curses were broken. It had soured her mood entirely so just to make herself feel better she had cursed an entire village that she happened to be passing into mute silence.
Perhaps she shouldn't work her curses in the heat of anger when she wasn't likely to specify the get-out clause. It sometimes threw up complications like it being as simple as true loves kiss. A completely cliché way to break a curse. It would be far better to wait until her anger cooled and let the idea of the curse ruminate until she thought to specify conditions such as requiring them to make the sun shine during the night. That would be far more satisfactory and wouldn't lead to any real possibility of them being broken. Sure True Love™ wasn't easy to come by, but surprisingly it didn't seem to be so far out of reach lately.
On the bright side, it surely wouldn't be long before someone annoyed her again. Maybe she'd demand their firstborn as payment. She could use someone to clean the cottage after the last one had disappeared and there were surprisingly few people willing to come out and do it voluntarily. Shocker. In the meantime she expected a few...friends (okay maybe she wouldn't go that far) to take her up on an open invitation she had extended to them some time ago. The news of a Camelot ball was bound to get their blood boiling. It was families like the Morgan Royals who she really despised. It was much better when the ruling family were at least a little heinous. It was good for business, people were more likely to come and buy something to improve their miserable little lives when living under a tyrant. The Morgans though...they bettered people's lives just by existing and it was ever so slightly bone-searingly annoying. If she could get near enough to them, she'd be sure to curse the ever-loving hell out of them. For now though, she would have to be content with fools that got in her way.
Speaking of which...was that the door?
