Who: Adam Malloy & Jace Kent
What: When they text each other, it's only ever about one thing.
Where:When: Tuesday, September 20, evening
Warnings: Porn. It's just... porn, guys, let's be blunt.
Adam's life wasn't where he'd expected it to be, a year ago. It was barely even where he'd expected it to be nine months ago, back in January when his breakup from Billie and his last attempt to convince himself that he could be straight was still fresh enough to hurt a little. He'd thought, back then, that it was always going to be rough, that nothing was ever going to get better, that he was looking at what the rest of his life was going to be like. It wasn't great. Sure, there were good points. He liked his job. He had friends. But there'd been something missing, something big.
He wasn't saying that discovering the joys of gay sex had fixed his entire life, but it definitely hadn't hurt.
There were still bad days and good days, sure, but the balance had shifted to the complete opposite of where it had been, back before X-Factor, and the Agency, and someone that he could just text, ask if they wanted to hook up, and then usually get a chance at the best sex of his life. Sometimes, the bad days actually came as a surprise, he'd had so many of the good ones in a row. He knew that he wasn't fixed, no matter how much he liked to joke around with Colin about Jace's dick being some kind of magic wand. That wasn't how depression worked. But he was learning to enjoy actually being happy without always waiting for the other shoe to drop. He'd learned to like himself a hell of a lot more, and he didn't think anyone was going to argue with him when he said that accepting that he was a gay man played a big part in that. Especially not when they'd all known it before he'd been ready to admit it.
That, and... being able to have sex basically whenever he wanted it, that was a nice change. Sure, he hadn't really branched out from hooking up with Jace, hadn't started looking for something that could actually be some kind of serious relationship instead of the casual sex that he and Jace had going on, but so far? Adam was pretty happy with that arrangement. His only actual worry about the whole thing, that he'd follow Ric's example and fall for the first pretty guy who wasn't interested in monogamy that came along and end up hurt because he couldn't have him to himself, hadn't happened, either, so his reasons to try finding someone else when he could have amazing sex with someone absolutely gorgeous just by asking if he was free (if Jace was actually free that night) were pretty much zero. Adam was a pretty simple guy, and just because he was a hell of a lot happier, it didn't mean that his social skills had expanded to picking someone up with ease.
It was way easier to just go with what he knew. All he'd done, once he'd talked to Colin and figured out that there was nothing for him to do at X-Factor after he got out of R&D for the day, was sent Jace a text asking what he was doing, and he'd gotten an invitation to the man's flat, since he'd taken advantage of being a department head to leave early for the day. Easy. No trying to get someone's name, buying them a drink, navigating through the fact that all either of them wanted was a night of no strings attached sex, finding someone else when it turned out that they were actually looking for someone to date, and then actually sorting out whose place they were going to, whether it was okay to spend the night... it just sounded stressful. Adam had only ever done that kind of dance with women, but it couldn't be all that different with men, even if it was more worth it, to him.
He hadn't bothered changing out of his work clothes after he'd left. They weren't the sexiest thing in the world, but it wasn't like Jace hadn't seen him in them before, and still had sex with him. Adam also didn't plan on having them on long, once he got through the door, so it didn't really matter how he was dressed. They fit a little better than what he'd been wearing, back when they'd first started hooking up, at least. A little tighter. Showed off some of the muscle that he knew that Jace liked, that he assumed other guys (and women, he guessed, but he didn't really care what they thought) would like, too. So, no, he didn't look hot, but he wasn't exactly self-conscious about anything when he knocked on Jace's door and waited for the other man to let him in. If Jace didn't like them, it would just be one more reason for him to get Adam naked faster. That was a win for both of them.
