WHO: Alexis Taylor WHERE: Times Square, NYC WHAT: Venom's coming out to play to drag out the spider. WHEN: Saturday Evening. WARNINGS: Violence. Probably some NPC death.
Alexis had reached the pinnacle of her impatience with her secret. See, the fun part of secretly being a villain was always the big reveal, and she'd been itching for hers. She'd expected it sooner, expected a showdown with her cousin that would happen naturally and would devastate him when she showed him it was her. Since that hadn't happened yet, she'd been left only with the choice to orchestrate her own reveal, and she would be damned if she wasn't going to show herself in style. Alexis Taylor was a force to be reckoned with, that was for sure.
The most important thing was to get Thomas alone. While she was confident in her skills with the aid of the Venom symbiote, Alexis wasn't naive enough to think that she could take on the entire Avengers team on her own. There was too much power in that team, and even if she could take them on, it wouldn't leave her with much down time and finesse to really show Thomas who she was in a way that was satisfying. No, she had to occupy the Avengers so that she could meet with Thomas in private, and give him incentive to meet her on his own. Nothing said incentive like threats of death to the innocent.
It hadn't been hard to recruit help from violent criminals. Busting them out of prison had been as easy as one, two, BOOM, and bribery with freedom and money made even the most hardened of criminals willing to participate in a team. The snow the region was getting could have put a damper on their plans, except that New Yorkers were delightfully stubborn about their desire to be out and about and just constantly busy. Times Square wasn't as busy as it usually was, but there were enough people to create chaos with the violent men attacking everybody and anybody. The police were held at bay by the weather conditions, unable to get their cruisers to the scene quickly. At times where there weren't enough people, Alexis improvised by breaking into apartments and stealing people away to force them into the chaos.
It was, if she had to say so herself, brilliant.
But the best part of her plan involved the children. Four children, selected specifically because they could easily be related to Thomas based on looks alone, hung upside down from the highest billboard in the area by their feet and flimsy webbing. Each kid had an envelope for Thomas, instructions on where to go and when tomorrow to meet 'Venom' for a chat. The conditions were simple: come alone, or the hostage she had would die. Each envelope had a different part of the instructions, and the children were threatened with death to them and their families if they gave the envelopes to anybody other than Spider-Man.
Chaos reigning, Alexis swung up into an abandoned apartment to watch.
