Who: Walt Morgan and Elliot Kensington
What: Walt is coming home, and it's a big surprise for someone.
Where: Elliot's father's home.
When: Thursday, December 24th
He wasn't sure if it was because he was so used to going places via the MTN, or if he was just too excited, but the plane ride he had to take from the base took forever. There was the waiting for the flight to take off, then the uncomfortable plane ride to the base in Germany. While he could have taken an MTN from there, Walt didn't want to deal with any questions. Besides, the airline had a good rapport with the army, and they loved being able to bring soldiers home, especially for the holiday.
So when he got on the plane with his coach ticket and his army duffel bag, still wearing his combat fatigues, he was immediately upgraded to first. He wouldn't want to deny them the pleasure of doing that, right? Yes, right, of course, being able to fly first class was really just to help them out, not because it was comfortable. Walt was already asleep by the time the plane got off the runway.
It was a long flight to New York City, but worth it to get there in time for the holidays. And to get there in time to surprise Elliot. He missed her more then there were words for, and he wasn't very good with words to begin with. But to finally be able to see her again, after so many months, was exciting. He'd freshened up in the airport rest room, and then he had placed the call to Elliot's father to make sure everything was prepared. He had her father call her over for something (he didn't know what it was, he hadn't worked it out with him), so when she came in and said hello to her father, he would step out from behind the wall in the other room, and that should be it.
And suddenly he was nervous. Very nervous, but excited, and the mixture made the butterflies in his stomach go berserk as he waited for her to get home.
