Who: Elliot & Kylie Kensington What: The call is coming from inside the house Where: Upper East Side, Manhattan NY When: Saturday night, October 31st, 2015 Warnings: Creepiness, fire, and DRAGONS.
Normally Elliot loved Halloween, but this year, she was a little bummed out. Walt was still away, and even though she'd send him pictures of her costume, getting to see his face when he saw her dressed as Daenerys would be even better. It was just her Dothraki outfit, nothing too sexy or revealing like most Halloween costumes were these days, but Elliot felt pretty bad ass in it. Oh well. She’d take some selfies later to send him in tomorrow’s e-mail. It had gotten to the point where Elliot was e-mailing him almost daily, and he didn’t seem to mind, which was good. She didn’t want to be annoying, but also, she missed him. She missed him a lot.
She had made plans to go to a party, and even though Elliot didn’t really feel like going, she was still going to drag herself to it. That is until she got too comfortable on the couch and realized that maybe this Halloween, she didn’t have to go out. Maybe it would be a nice change to actually stay in and hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters who came by. Halloween used to be a big deal for their family, their mom had loved putting on small parties at the house and having giant bowls of candy ready for every time the doorbell rang. Understandably, the Kensingtons didn’t really go all out for Halloween anymore. That had been their mom’s thing, and their dad… well, he just wasn’t cut out to keep doing something every year that only reminded him more of his dead wife. It was sad, and Elliot wasn’t sure she agreed with him. She liked doing things that reminded her of their mom, but she knew everyone’s grieving process was different.
Elliot had convinced Kylie to forget whatever plans she’d made and come over to hang out. She barely saw her sister anymore now that Kylie was living in some mutant mansion thing, and she was really craving some sister time, so she’d made a bunch of popcorn and put on a scary movie for them. They were watching Scream, and they'd just gotten to the part where Tatum was about to get killed by a garage door when the home phone rang, and Elliot let out a very undignified squeak, nearly spilling the popcorn on her lap. “Shoot!” She scrambled to pick up the phone. “Kensington residence! Elliot speaking. … Hello?” There was no one on the other end, and after another second the line went dead. Elliot hung up the phone and looked over at Kylie with a shrug. “That was weird. Want some more popcorn?”
