Who: Jim Moore, Matthias Graves, Lucien Prince & Robert Kingsley What: ... A gathering of villains? Lucien's meeting the men in charge. Where: Happy Endings, Chicago When: Backdated to Saturday night, September 12th 2015 Warnings: TBD? Probably nothing too crazy, but you never know with this crowd
Saturday nights at Happy Endings were always busy. Most, except for the much less fortunate, were off for the weekend and looking to have a little fun. Jim's club provided just the right mixture of 'fun' and classy to keep all the undesirables out (even reincarnates weren't exempt from being a particular kind of low life) and still show everyone there a good time. The bar was always fully stocked, the entertainment unique and at their best every night, unless they wanted to find themselves without a job. Jim wasn't the sort of employer you wanted to disappoint, after all. He ran a tight ship, and his employees were as impressed by him as they were genuinely terrified to step out of line. No surprise, but Jim liked it that way. Ruling with an iron fist would always produce more satisfactory results than ruling with a soft one. People were largely incompetent, but instill them with fear, and that fear alone might drive them to succeed where they may have been completely incapable to otherwise.
Usually on weekends, Jim couldn't be found in the public areas of the club. He preferred to hide himself away from the crowds, observe from behind the curtain, if you will. He always saw more from a perch above everyone else, where he was undisturbed. Or else he simply preferred the company of a singular person to crowds upon crowds of bland strangers, that company being Matthias. The only reason Jim could even be seen on the main floor of the club tonight was because of that very man, and the company they were currently keeping. Jim and Matthias had taken it upon themselves to arrange a casual meeting with Robert and their newest protege, Lucien Prince. Admittedly, the boy was still completely unaware of the true nature of their combined interest in him, but it was better that way. Let him get an unbiased impression of their type of people, before he was forced to make any decisions. He'd already passed Matthias's last little test with Francis, but now, unknowingly, Lucien was faced with the real one. If Robert Kingsley didn't like you, you weren't likely to be let in. Or survive.
Jim was seated at a table towards the back of the room in one of the VIP areas on one side of Matthias, eyes idly on his partner until his attention was diverted by the server who had finally shown up with their drinks. Five minutes past the time that Jim had expected them, so he looked up at the woman with an icy stare, speaking calmly despite the murder now apparent in his eyes. No, this server would definitely not last the week here. He would see to that. "It's about time." She cringed, making it obvious that she was aware of his displeasure and immediately set the drinks down in front of them before shrinking away, tail between her legs. In a split second, Jim's face had transformed again, smiling widely as he gestured to the drinks while he took his own, a double scotch. "Drink up, gentlemen."
