Who: David & Hannah Ryan What: Spending some quality time with Sam & Dean's stuff Where: The Men of Letters bunker in Lebanon, Kansas When: Sunday, May 24th, 2015 Warnings: Nothing major
Since their first attempt at reaching the Men of Letters bunker, David and Hannah had gotten a little smarter about it. For one, the next time they ventured out that way, they didn't hitch hike. As much as it might save on time by taking the MTN, it was too risky, they couldn't afford to expose themselves like that again while they were still so inexperienced and very obviously defenseless. It was only a seven hour drive from David's place in Colorado anyway, where they had been holing up in a majority of the time since that creepy chick Tali had started threatening his sister. So the next time they set out, David had made sure the Impala was fully stocked, juiced up and had everything checked out before making the long trip, their first real road trip in Dean's baby. And they still fought over the music.
This was maybe their third or fourth trip to the bunker since they'd gotten ambushed by a demon while hitch hiking a couple months ago, and they were still getting the lay of the land. There was a crap ton of weird shit in this place, plenty of rooms to explore and books to go through. Okay, well, Hannah was typically the one who went through the books. David was more happy to avoid the headache in favor of poking around and checking out all the cool looking weapons. Really more his style, and it fit. Sam had always been the more dedicated researcher of the two Winchesters, and Hannah was the same way. David didn't feel bad about it, he was actually pretty proud of his sister for being such a brain, even if he did tease her about it regularly. It was out of love, and a big brother's right to torment. (He took his job very seriously.)
He'd been checking out some of the rooms downstairs from the main level. Specifically the room that served as a shooting range, and the dungeons. That place was kind of freaky, and David was temporarily experiencing some pretty awkward second-hand memories of holding certain demons in that room. It was totally weird to be in a place that Dean had spent so much time in, because it felt like he had too, but reincarnate memories played tricks on you. Sometimes they were harmless tricks, like feeling at home in a place that wasn't actually your home, and sometimes they were the kind of tricks that could get you in real trouble. Like trusting a demon. David was still a little unsure about this whole alliance agreement with Finley, but when he'd still been on the fence, Hannah had taken him by surprise and actually agreed to it. That, more than anything, had been why David more easily went along with it, but part of him still worried that he was putting too much blind trust in a potential enemy. He had to protect Hannah, though, he had to make sure she stayed safe, and if working with Finley would achieve that in the long run...
At least they were safe whenever they were here. David had band practice and Hannah had school, but when they could manage to get away, he felt a lot better when they were in the bunker. Made him wish they could just stay here permanently, which was probably really dumb, but maybe also kinda smart, considering all the heat that might be coming down on them soon. After taking a quick poke around the garage where all those antique cars and Baby were kept, David headed back upstairs and plopped himself down at the table in front of his laptop to google the Supernatural wiki page. "Dude, have you seen the dungeons yet? Total creepy stuff. These men of letters guys sure were into some freaky shit."
