Who: Zane Rosen and Daniel Morgan What: They celebrate their one month anniversary, and severely overestimate their self-control. Where: Zane’s house in Glastonbury. When: Tuesday, March 24th, evening. Warnings: ...this will probably turn into porn pretty quickly. Also language because Zane.
Daniel had been Zane’s boyfriend for a month.
He had to think that through again, because sometimes it still took that second thought for it to actually sink in. He, Zane Rosen, had been in a relationship with Daniel Morgan for exactly one month. How fucking weird was that? Sure, a month wasn’t long, when you really looked at it, but long enough that they had something to celebrate. One month. Four weeks. Twenty-eight days, and enough kisses that he’d lost count (but they definitely hadn’t lost their impact). They’d told Daniel’s family, he’d been in a joke duel for the right to court Daniel, kissed him in front of pretty much everybody after Freddie had held back to let him win, been Daniel’s date to a wedding and danced with him at the reception. Once, after the duel, they’d almost lost control and gone further than they meant to in a damn hallway; if it hadn’t been for Daniel coming to his senses after they started trying to tug clothes off, there was no telling what would have happened there, where anybody could have walked in on it. Definitely still surprised the hell out of Zane sometimes, when he remembered that he got to kiss Daniel pretty much whenever he wanted. Other times, though, when everything about being together fit so well, it seemed like they’d been a couple for way longer than that. That was most of the time, actually, being with Daniel was comfortable and easy in a way that no other attempts at a relationship had ever been. Zane couldn’t remember ever being so fucking happy before, except…
Well, they were taking it slow. Zane had no problem with that, had agreed wholeheartedly that whatever they were doing, it was way too important to fuck it up by rushing into things, especially when Daniel’s experience with guys was pretty much none. Zane was willing to wait as long as it took for them to be ready for that step, it was just. Well. They were fucking amazing together that way, too. While they’d still been oblivious to the fact that they were crazy about each other, Zane hadn’t noticed the attraction aside from, obviously, realizing that Daniel was handsome as fuck. After that first kiss, he hadn’t been able to stop noticing it. Anymore, all he had to do was look at Daniel across the room, or have a passing thought about him, and he was ready to fucking go. It was distracting. He still wasn’t sure if knowing for a fact that Daniel wanted him just as bad made it better or worse. He thought they’d done a decent job hiding it from everyone else, maybe, but fuck, he hadn’t jerked off so much since he was a teenager, and he barely remembered what a shower that wasn’t cold felt like anymore. Worth it, though, if it kept this from fucking crashing and burning like the last time, and all the times before.
They’d made it a month though. A month without fighting, and even more impressive, a month without relying on sex to keep them from fighting. Hadn’t even come close to slipping, at the wedding, so Zane was feeling probably more confident than he should about their chances at making it through the night of their anniversary with their virtues no more tarnished than they had been already (his couldn’t get much worse, honestly). They had Duke to insist on getting in the way, and he was a pretty good furry chaperone. Besides, like hell was Zane going to skip out on getting some time alone with Daniel on their one month anniversary, no matter how dorky that might be. Hell, the night they’d settled on was rewatching The Princess Bride and having Chinese takeout at Zane’s place. Dorky was kind of what they fucking did. Lucky for both of them that they liked that about each other. Liked it a lot.
Zane had called in the order for their Chinese before leaving work, so they could swing by there to pick it up before heading home. Wasn’t the first time he’d done it, though it was the first time he’d added Daniel’s order to it, so it was a routine that he and the Chinese place both had practice with. Bad part of that was that they had questions about the addition to his order. Made sure to try to get a good look at his mysterious friend when Zane and Daniel stopped to pick it up, too. Zane thought that maybe he should mind. Really didn’t, though. After all, what part of getting to tell the nosy ladies at his favorite Chinese place that this was his boyfriend was he supposed to mind?
The extra hands were nice to have, when Zane pulled into his driveway. Actually, having Daniel riding behind him on the motorcycle, holding on to him, that was nice all by itself. He left Daniel to take care of the food while he fished out the right key. Letting Daniel in wasn’t a problem… he’d added Daniel to his wards after that first time he’d spend the night over, back before they’d even been dating. It would be just as easy as walking into any other house, for Daniel, though no one else would be able to get in without Zane letting them. “Gonna put Duke out in the yard, else he’ll be trying to help himself.” Zane wouldn’t leave him out long, though. Both of them liked having him around, and Duke was pretty sure that Daniel belonged to him, now. Not that Zane was complaining about sharing a dog with him, even if it was a little too soon for co-ownership. Hey, at least they were waiting on the sex. That was the important part of taking it slow, right?
