David had been holding onto the damn key since he'd become a reincarnate, it was one of the objects he'd gotten from the Agency. To anyone else it might just look like any old key, but it was their way into the Men-Of-Letters Bunker. After talking it over seriously, he and Hannah had decided that it was time for them to find it. Mostly because they could, Dean even remembered the coordinates, but also because it was probably a good idea for them to have a safe spot. Somewhere a lot safer than David's apartment, which was littered with salt, but there was still a crazy bitch demon out there stalking his sister, so they couldn't be too careful. David wanted something more fool proof.
He wasn't sure when his life had become so completely taken over by this crap, but he wasn't sure he liked it. He liked being a bassist, that's what he liked. Being REDO's bass guitarist and nothing else suited him just fine, but every time David thought his life could go back to some kind of normal, something else happened that could only happen to the reincarnate of Dean Winchester. He resented it a little, but he wasn't against learning how to hunt. If it kept him and his sister safe, then he'd do it, no questions. But there was no denying the fact that his life had taken a very sudden turn for the weird, and it was only getting weirder. Demons, vampires, angel groupies... yeah, David didn't really know what to make of his new found existence as rock star by day and amateur hunter of all things supernatural by night, but the second title came with a whole bunch of crap he still didn't feel very prepared for.
Taking the MTN to the Agency set up in Topeka, Kansas was the easy part. From there, they had to figure out how to get to Lebanon, which was three hours away with no damn Agency field office to MTN in to. Small hitch in their plans. At least they had packed a little better this time around. A bag full of all sorts of good stuff. Salt, holy water, enough weapons for both of them this time, in case they got jumped by another gang of vampires again with only one machete between them. So if they had to hitch hike, they were also prepared in case the driver turned out to be somebody from Texas Chainsaw. It was possible David needed to stop watching so many horror movies.
"... Well, this sucks," David spoke up as they walked out of the Agency field office and into the armpit of the United States. God he hated Kansas. They'd barely gotten through the MTN with their bag of tricks, but David had managed to sweet talk the person on duty. Hey, Dean Winchester wasn't the only one with some game. He squinted against the sun and shielded his eyes with a hand to look down the road, seeing a truck in the distance slowly rolling towards them in a cloud of dust. "You gotta put your thumb out, drivers always stop for the chicks."
