It was another early Monday, and Billie hated Mondays more than most mortals. Working at the Agency was both a blessing and a curse; being there at the normal hour of 9 AM meant she had to leave her apartment in New York by four o'clock thanks to the time difference. Granted, being a god made her have a little bit of a boost in the energy department, but still! It was the principle of the thing. Four AM meant she had to step over all of the sleeping homeless people and pretend she didn't see them so that people wouldn't judge her for not stopping, and that was such a pain.
So far that day she had hung up on three people, which was a record low for her. She had been trying to be better mannered and less easy to anger on the phone and with people who approached her desk. Director Archer had approached her about her demeanor with those who called genuinely confused, and for the sake of keeping her job she'd agreed to comply. He couldn't blame her for those earlier calls, though. Those people were just incredibly dull and stupid. She was doing the world a favor by hanging up on them.
Things had been slow for the last hour, and Billie had finished all of the work she had so far, so she'd granted herself a break of sorts. She was leaning back in her chair, filing her nails, while rolls of thunder trembled from the clouds outside. She hadn't been able to do much in the way of thunderstorms back home because of the winter, but London was a different story. It was always dreary in London, and not a big snow place. She could make thunderstorms if she wanted to. And she did, and she was damn pleased with herself when she heard the rain pour down while people cursed their weatherman as they came in now drenched.
She looked up briefly when she heard someone approach the desk before she looked back down at the nail she was working on. "State your name and sign in."
