Who: Casey Snow, Nik Peters on, Adam Malloy and various X-Men
What: There's no time like the present for an attack on the Mansion.
Where: The X-Mansion.
When: Late Saturday night.
Overwhelming darkness covered the ground out here in the middle of nowhere. Any lights that had previously worked no longer did. The lack of them didn't make much difference on this night. the eyes trying to seek out a path weren't really seeing what was there, unfocused as they were.
Casey walked carefully along the path, gravel crunching beneath her feet as he footsteps lead her ever onwards. She hugged herself against the cold, pulling her thin and entirely impractical jacket closer. It took a while to reach the end of the winding drive and then she stopped, taking in the large unkempt façade of the abandoned house. It didn't exactly look promising.
Ignoring the abandoned air to the place, she steeped up and knocked heavily on the door. She waited a time with no answer before knocking again, this time calling out to no one in particular. "Hello? I broke down back on the road. Is there anyone around? Not that I'm totally worried or anything but there might be someone following me and I'd rather not be murdered!" There was a tinge of panic in her voice and she glanced desperately over her shoulder. The silence ebbed on. She knocked again. "Please." Her voice cracked into a sob as she tried to twist the doorknob to no avail.
She was about to give up and try for a side door when the one before here suddenly creaked open. An Asian woman stood watching her with concern. "Oh thank God. I was beginning to think I'd die." She whispered breathlessly as she threw herself forward on the porch. The gun in her hand appeared from nowhere and settled between Frankie's eyes. "I guess you will instead."
The gunshot echoed through the trees, loud and sharp, and the woman at the door dropped to the floor, blood spilling into unseeing eyes. Casey stepped neatly over her and slipped into the Mansion. She wouldn't be alone much longer.
