Who: Aidan Thorn and Jason Kent
What: They had to meet eventually....
Where: Agency, security room
When: Friday afternoon, February 6
Warnings: No warnings
Aidan had discovered his distaste for surveillance, at least the kind that placed him behind a desk, years ago. It was boring, mindless work that made him sleepy. Unfortunately, there was always a desk that needed to be manned and as the new guy, the job landed on his shoulders. He had to remind himself that this was what he wanted: a nice, normal, steady and somewhat safe job. And Aidan was actually able to go home at night. That’s all that mattered right? Right.
But he also knew he got lucky. After his stint in New York, he could have ended up a lot worse. So …maybe surveillance wasn’t so bad after all. Bones thought it was great. The good doc loved the days spent in front of the screens because Aidan was able to study. Hundreds of dollars spent on medical books, journals that spewed information about body parts and blood vessels and no thanks. Aidan knew basic care, what every officer had to learn at the academy and relearn through the years. Anything past that, he called for help.
But Bones thought that was bullshit. They were currently working on the heart, well, had been. "Aidan" Aidan tuned out Bones' growl and found a sudden interest in the screen for the lobby, because really, “when the fuck am I ever going to do heart surgery?” He muttered, leaning forward, flipping the book closed over his hand. He wasn’t a doctor. The image flashed and he glared as his reflection caught in the corner, “never, that’s when.”
