Who: Freddie Morgan & Dustin Guevera What: Dustin's been captured by Camelot and sentenced to death When: Sunday, October 12th 2014 Where: Camelot Castle (Glastonbury, England) Warnings: ALL THE SADNESS AND ANGST. For me and Tracy.
The Camelot traitor known as Dustin Guevera had been caught and brought back to Camelot to be tried for his crimes. They didn't usually deal with captured enemies this way, given the security of the castle that depended on a certain level of secrecy. But Dustin was no stranger to Camelot's halls, since he'd once been a member of their organization's Magics department. Not only that, but at one point he'd actually been a friend. That was not so much the case anymore.
It was hard to say when the falling out had really happened. Freddie and Dustin had once been closer than close, the one person Freddie felt like he could really trust over anybody else. Even his own family. Living as the reincarnate of Arthur was hard, mostly because he didn't always agree with the things Arthur believed, and he definitely wasn't a fan of magic, even after Arthur's opinion of it had changed. And yet, that hadn't gotten in the way of his friendship with Dustin, at least not at first. Not until Dustin began to visibly change, when he'd started to let his power take over and eventually became just as dark, if not more so than Morgana herself.
Freddie had never felt so betrayed, but he'd had no choice. Once he'd learned of Dustin's misuse of magic, he'd made attempts to stop his friend before things went too far. Dustin fled Camelot, and Freddie hadn't seen him since. Not until his former friend attempted to poison him, and Camelot's agents hunted the dark wizard down. Through great efforts, they'd found him, brought him back to the castle where they had magic strong enough to hold him, and put him on trial. He'd been found guilty of crimes against Camelot, of course, and had been sentenced to death. But he wasn't going to die, not before Freddie spoke with him one last time.
On the day that his sentencing was to be carried out, Freddie took the long walk down to Camelot's dungeons where Dustin was being held in a magically reinforced cell. He needed answers. Actually, Arthur needed answers. Freddie just wanted to see for himself that he'd done the right thing in having his once close friend put to death. "Comfortable, I hope."
