Who: Liam Walker & Casey Snow
What: Casey took the cure & Liam's not happy about it
When: Monday, September 15th 2014
Where: Kings College Hospital (London)
Warnings: Awkward? Angst? Awkward angst?
For Liam, reincarnation had never come easy. Becoming a reincarnate was something like being saddled with someone else's PTSD, after already earning your own. He'd been fresh out of the army, still recovering from his leg injury. Having too adjust to that was hard enough without having to adjust to this at the same time. Living with someone else's voice and memories and their crap ton of baggage wasn't easy. Actually, it pretty much sucked, and to some degree it was because of that baggage that he'd lost his brother. Being a reincarnate seemed to offer nothing except a shorter life and a brutal death at some point, and a good number of people's reincarnates already had suffered brutal deaths, Liam's included. It wasn't an easy co-existence. So on some level, Liam understood the instinct to run to this new 'cure'. Robb, however, did not.
The news that Casey had taken the cure hadn't sat well with the young Stark, though Liam hadn't liked it much either. After that whole mess with the virus nearly wiping everyone out, how could anyone be that stupid? He didn't even know Casey that well, they'd only spoken once or twice, she just so happened to also house the woman who was Catelyn Stark, Robb's mother. Or at least she used to. Robb was feeling confused and abandoned, which made Liam just feel angry. To be honest, it didn't take a lot to make Liam angry, but when it was in his own head where he couldn't escape from it? Yeah. He was angry. And the only way he could think of to deal with this was to track down the former reincarnate of Robb's mother. Because that was totally a good idea.
A few days later this was how he'd ended up at Kings College Hospital, after hearing that Casey had started work there in A&E. He'd told the front desk that he was family (which wasn't technically a complete lie, at least before she'd taken the cure) and they'd told him she was almost done with a shift, so he decided to sit outside on one of the benches and wait. Maybe even finally ponder on what in the seven hells he was even doing here. Half an hour later and Liam still didn't know what he was doing here, but he was pretty sure it was Stark's fault. He wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for him, but Liam could see her coming now and it was too late to make a run for it.
