Scarlett Jones ♥ Jean Grey ([info]rebornfromashes) wrote in [info]thereincarnates,
Scarlett had spent the first half of the day at work, as usual. Fridays were far less busy then the rest of the work week, so she'd let most of her staff go home early and finished everything up herself before officially calling it a day. There were only three new arrivals that week so Scarlett had taken two out of three of those to personally visit herself, which always made for a more interesting day. The weirdness of the conversation of 'Congratulations, you've become a reincarnate' never got old, only lately it'd gotten a little more awkward, and in some cases even hostile. The last thing people seemed to want to hear these days is that they, too, had become what everyone else in the world seemed to hate. Scarlett couldn't really blame them, being the reincarnate of a mutant herself.

By the time she'd gotten home, Scarlett was mentally exhausted, so she'd taken a hot bath and spent the better part of the evening relaxing on the couch with a book and the dulcet tones of David Bowie. It was almost perfect, but there was one thing still missing. And that one thing had just knocked on her front door, which she scrambled to answer, opening the door with flushed cheeks and a wide smile.

"Colt, hi- Thank you. So do you," She breathed, feeling the sudden urge to facepalm at herself once she'd said it but leaning in to accept the kiss and still blushing a little at the compliment. He always said stuff like that, which she obviously didn't mind. Right now she was just in jeans and a comfortable t-shirt (AC/DC, Back in Black), but who was she to argue with him? Feeling stupid but taking the bottle of wine from him, she ushered Colt inside and shut the door, making her way to the kitchen to deposit the wine. "And I'm sure we can find a reason to open it, don't you?"
