Unlike most reincarnates, Harper had a shockingly uneventful last couple weeks. While every one else was getting sick and dying, she remained healthy, and somewhat bored with very little to do. It was only through this dastardly plot by the U.S. Government that she even found out the real truth about her patients - which was that, for a certain majority of them, they were all reincarnates. Hm. Somehow that small detail had escaped her when making their official diagnosis. It seems her therapist skills were rusty, but then, having her own mental passenger tended to muddle things a good deal. She was less in tune with the people she was evaluating, more concentrated on maintaining her own imbalance. It was a step by step process with Harley, and a slow one.
It was a rare moment when she was actually grateful for her reincarnate, who usually brought her nothing but a splitting headache, but it was probably because of Harley that Harper hadn't gotten sick in the first place. Something to do with Harley's immunity to toxins or something, thanks to Pam Isely. So while everyone else was out sick, Harper was finally finding the time to continue her personal research, and hope that none of her patients died on her. She really needed that steady paycheck. Of course, she was concerned about their well beings. But she couldn't say she was overly invested in them, emotionally speaking. There really wasn't room for that sort of thing in therapy, at least on her end. Her patients could get emotional, and frequently, but it really wasn't appropriate for her to show any bias.
Now that the virus seemed to have passed, her schedule was more swamped then usual. Patients booking multiple appointments in a week in order to properly 'deal' with the sheer amount of physical and emotional trauma they'd been through in their individual near-death experiences. It was incredible. Being the workaholic that she was, Harper was glad for the over time, it kept her focused while distracted from the things she was really avoiding. Being the reincarnate of a criminally inclined villainous wasn't easy, especially when you were trying so hard to stay on the straight and narrow. Harper sighed wearily, looking up from her desk when the door to her office abruptly swung open and the receptionist poked her head in. "Excuse me, Dr. Gray? Your next appointment is here to see you."
