Who: Charlotte McBride (Nick Burkhardt) and Open to good guys in or near New Orleans (otherwise a stand alone) Where: French Quarter, New Orleans, Louisiana When: Saturday night What: Charlotte is busking to make cash to split the city before the Trueborns show up and maybe finds a little understanding. Warnings: Church of the Trueborn will be mentioned
To the untrained eye the young woman playing fiddle in the Quarter that Saturday was another average busker. She might have been a bored tourist looking for some fun or a local itching to try out new material. But she was different, mostly since a Grimm had moved into her head less than 2 weeks before. As Charlotte played a very unusual spin on Lady Gaga's "Applause" she was always watching her back, rumors of the Trueborns heading to the city to launch another round of protests had sped up her plans to leave the city and head for another state. As she played the last chords the teen had a rare moment of happiness as of late, the crowd watching and hearing her play had become a sign of hope.
As Charlotte took her bows before starting the next song she could see something out of the corner of her eye. *Sorry Charlie, not a Wesen. Just a dog hunting for leftovers.* Nick explained (after being sure it was indeed just a dog looking for dropped scraps) since he had blocked his Grimm powers mostly to protect the teen while she was on the run. But as she played "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" the teen kept her guard up.
She could not risk trusting anyone that she had not spoken with online, she was more scared of the Trueborns coming after her if the rumors were indeed true. The only other problem: she had not been able to shake what she was sure was something food related. *Note to self Nick, remind me to avoid clams till I shake this thing?*
