Who: Ann and Anton
When: First week of November
Where: Anton's penthouse (Manhattan, NYC)
What: Dinner not-date
After all the madness that had unravelled during Halloween, it had taken Anton a few days to settle down. It was difficult to undo the damage that the temporary amnesia had done, but by the time he invited Ann over, life had returned back to its normal pace.
He wasn't sure why he invited her over, to be honest. But she was the first real friend he'd made in America outside of the office, and he did want to know how she had been getting on since their Statue of Liberty break-in stunt.
He'd mulled it over when he invited her over to his penthouse, but it was centrally located on Park Avenue with a panoramic view of the city that few others would ever have the luxury of seeing. It did occur to him that maybe he should have invited her over to the quaint brick townhouse his parents had left for him over in Greenwich Village - it had a more homely, warm feel to it with endearing cluttered corners than his penthouse of cold glass and minimalist furniture - but that would involve him going to the townhouse too, and he wasn't quite ready to face up to the reality of the emptiness that his parents had left behind just yet.
So Ann was given the Park Avenue address. The building receptionist was waiting for her. It was just a dinner, not a date, but he was putting quite a bit more effort into the meal than he normally would for himself nonetheless.
