Who. All members of Camelot & invited guests (Restricted guest list - Not sure if you're on it? Ask!) What. CAMELOT'S HALLOWEEN PARTY! Where. Camelot Castle (Glastonbury, England) When. Thursday night, October 31st 2013 Warnings. Reasonably warned?
It was Halloween night and everything had been put away for the big event. No more medieval weapons lying on the kitchen tables, blueprints and battle plans had been rolled up and stuffed into corners. Instead of an empty hall there was a huge room covered in decorations of orange and black just past the foyer. There were tables upon tables of all the Halloween themed food and desserts that you could possibly think of and more, and huge cauldron shaped bowls of spiked punch that never seemed to empty. There were a few tables with food and drink laid out especially for kids, since more than a few Camelot members had children of their own. Strategically placed cobwebs were hanging from corners of the ceiling and broomsticks lay propped just outside the entrance to the main hall like umbrellas, with a handmade sign that read ‘Please leave all broomsticks and other flying contraptions by the door’.
The castle itself was probably intimidating to behold as an outsider. If you were a non-Camelot affiliated guest you were greeted by card carrying members at the London MTN, then escorted by limo half an hour away to a hidden rendezvous point where another MTN system (one created specifically by Camelot and not licensed by the Agency so its existence remains unknown to them) was waiting. From there, you would appear on the other side in Glastonbury, where you would be escorted to a lake and asked to repeat an oath. Because of their enemies, Camelot has many secrets, and the details surrounding the location of the castle itself including how you get there is a secret that must be kept. Swearing the oath means you consent to keeping Camelot’s secrets as an outsider and understand the consequences if you attempt to break said oath. No one has ever tried, so it can’t be said with certainty what would happen to you, but the magic surrounding the oath would ensure that not a word left your mouth. It’s said to be painful.
Once you’ve sworn, you’re escorted up to the castle doors by boat, the mist surrounding the castle protecting it from view parting in a very Arthurian fashion. All members and guests are led up the steps lit by Jack-O’-Lanterns and straight to the main hall once they’ve arrived. There’s a DJ playing toward the back of the room and everyone is already drinking and dancing in costumes. By eight o’clock the place was already packed, nearly everyone in Camelot had turned up and most of them had brought friends. Whether they were potential recruits or not didn’t matter tonight, tonight was about having fun. They didn’t have too many chances like this to let loose. People are encouraged to explore the castle too, but of course advised not to if they have a problem with ghosts. Camelot has more than a few roaming around the place, but the Morgan/Evans family assures everyone that they’re all very friendly. Little do they know how unfriendly some of the ghosts might be tonight. Happy Halloween!
