Who: Ethan & John
What: Amsterdam shenanigans
Where: Amsterdam
When: Friday night
Warnings: Two guys half-nekkid in bed. No, it wasn't like that. I think!
He's not sure what happened or how they ended up here, but he is sure there was something in those 'brownies' that made them act out of turn. There'd been poorly co-ordinated limbs and fingers entangled in sheets and then he'd woken up with a dry throat half-naked next to a blond man that his vessel had once been (and likely still was, if he was still alive) madly in love with.
"Tell me about John's wife."
"Ah... well..."
Coffee and chocolate were fairly novel things to Ned Stark and on more than one occasion, he'd caught sight of Ethan trying to suppress a smirk or bite back a laugh when he foisted foreign things on plates onto Ned. No one looked at the two men like they were out of place here, so gradually Ned felt more and more comfortable to be around John Morgan's lover.
"So this daughter... Chelsea?"
"Yes. He loved her dearly."
The church was a grand old building, and he could feel its age reverberate through the walls. He did not know the religions of this land but it was a suitable place to venerate the gods. Its surroundings, though, had made Ned slightly uncomfortable. He was unfamiliar with the notion of a red light district and he'd lost count of the number of times he had had to say no.
"So now you're pretending to be John."
"Yes I am."
"You're doing a very bad job of it."
"I know, ser."
The pub was a noisy place and reminded Ned of a feast in a great hall - except no one seemed to know anyone else and the host standing behind the counter serving drinks to everyone didn't seem to be entertained by it all. He's been to pubs before, and all pubs have a similar feel to them. But he's never been to a pub to watch men play ball games on the telly. Ethan seemed enthralled by it. Ned was amused watching the expressions change on his face.
"You should wear the ring."
"It was yours to keep."
"Wear it for me then, just for tonight."
"...alright."
It must have been two in the morning when they stumbled home. Ethan complained about being hungry and they'd stopped for some 'brownies' which were a strange, moist sort of dense cake with this chocolate ingredient in it. They were delicious but by the time Ethan and John stumbled back to their hotel, there were cold hands on hot skin and wet kisses on dry lips.
"I really miss you, John."
"Mmm."
"When you'd left I thought- I thought-"
"It wasn't like that..."
Ned tried to slip his arm out from under Ethan's body, but it would be a futile exercise to attempt to do so without waking the messy head of blond hair up.
