Who: Jen Hill & Bryce Tyler
What: Superman and Batman spend some quality time
Where: Gotham City
When: Friday night, July 19th, 2013
Warnings: TBD? Supe sass and Bat snark.
"Hope you're not afraid of heights."
Jen turned to look at Bryce with a wry smile, positioning herself just on the ledge where she took a careful seat and let her legs dangle dangerously over the edge. For a girl with the ability to fly, it was a little odd that she sometimes got her biggest rushes from something as simple as swinging her legs over the side of a roof. Owen was right, and maybe sometimes she felt herself that she was a little more Bat than Alien, but could you really blame her? She was surrounded by Bats. Present company included. "Because now would be a really bad time to tell me that."
They'd come to Gotham on a recon mission, the hunt for Chris's twin brother Ted still the JL's main focus, but right now? Jen's main focus was Bryce, and the fact she had to keep reminding herself of that while Bryce was Batman, he was also the rookie. The new kid on the block. So weird.
She flashed him an eyebrow, nodding to the piece of ledge next to her in her silent way of asking him to sit. It was still a weird thought, how much time she'd already spent in Gotham compared to Bryce, but that was why she'd suggested they come here together. Jen was the JL's leader, but it didn't feel right bringing Bryce into this like some newbie. He was the goddamn Batman, after all. Underneath it all. If she was ever going to leave this group to anyone, it would be him. It'd always been him. You might ask yourself why, but then, neither Jen nor Clark could blame you. Batman and Superman had never been the most likely pair, but they sure made a hell of a team where it counted.
It was hard to focus with everything else going on. Jen was worried about Ted, worried about the implications of him missing, already dreading what some part of her knew was inevitable with this group. Still, she did her best to put it far from her mind and focus on the here and now. Thankfully the here and now wasn't Jen sporting the traditional red and blue, opting for something a little less obvious than Clark's cape and tights. She had on black leggings and a hoodie, which if she had to fly later wouldn't get in the way of it, but right now they were sitting atop a roof in Gotham, for all intents and purposes admiring the view.
"My view's better."
