Adrienne had never been the sort to keep an honest job, though now and again she found enough of a reason to. Like now, for instance, though this was mostly out of spite for what happened at her last job than anything else. Ungrateful little brats, tattling on her like that. After she'd been so eager to nurture, to develop their young minds the way a children's mind should be. All the children wanted was to be coddled, and Adrienne wouldn't comply. No, the only way a kid got any back bone was if they learned the meaning of punishment. It was how she'd learned, after all, thanks to her father all those many years ago. What sort of teacher would she be now if she didn't see fit to return the generous favor? She'd given them that. A worthwhile, valuable lesson. And then she'd gotten sacked for it.
Of course, she could have stayed there. The Imperius curse had done its job on the entire staff, but what witch in her right mind would want to stay at a place that she wasn't wanted? Adrienne just wasn't the type to fake it if she could help it. Which is why the current charade she had going to fool her cousin, Potter and all his little idiot friends was already growing tiresome, her insatiable spirit already weary of it. She'd taken the new teaching job to give herself a real distraction, but of course, it only ended up adding to her overall frustrations. She really did hate children. Why did she become a teacher, you might ask? Well, somebody had to make sure the children of Belfast learned the right way of doing things, like those Irish revolutionaries of the seventies to the nineties that she so admired, even fought beside at the very end.
It was fair to say that even before Bellatrix, Adrienne had always been a little more than just twisted. She was convinced it was one of the reasons Seamus loved her so much, though he couldn't possibly know what she'd done at the school or what she'd been up to lately. Though as fate would have it, he'd find out soon enough. Adrienne was distracted, all wound up from the school day and filled to the brim with dark purpose since her reunion with Bellatrix's beloved Dark Lord, but if there was one thing she still held dear more than anything, it was coming home to her handsome, devoted husband. On this particularly late and rainy Tuesday night, Adrienne marched up the stone pathway and strode into the Keenan manor she and Seamus had been living in ever since his uncle's tragic passing. In some ways this house reminded Bellatrix of Cissy's, and it made Adrienne feel all the more at ease here now.
"O, Seamus!" She wiped her wet, black hair off her face and slid her sleeve down over her arm as she always did to cover her Dark Mark, a recent gift bestowed unto her by Robert Kingsley himself. She couldn't have her husband seeing that someone else had branded her, now could she? The house was dark as she walked briskly and not at all blindly through it, knowing her husband to be here somewhere. She could always tell when he was. "If yer going to make me search all over the bloody house for ye, ye better make it worth me while, husband."
