When the Supers had gotten the distress call, they weren't sure what to expect. Certainly not the chaos that they were met with once they all arrived at the scene.
Gotham residents (both on the upstanding and the more criminally inclined) and New Jersey civilians alike were being terrorized in the streets - those that weren't doing the terrorizing, anyway. Cars and homes were being broken into, fire alarms were going off as building after building was lit aflame, people were getting mugged, beaten and some killed. Fights were breaking out on every corner as people turned against each other, and to anyone just coming onto the scene, for a moment all you could really do was stare.
They would find out eventually that this was the aftermath of a city council meeting regarding the subject of the growing threat of reincarnates and vigilantes alike, and had inevitably erupted into a sea of violence once the meeting had been adjourned.
Natalie Rakov, the resident reincarnate of Natasha Romanova, had arrived a little ahead of most of her other friends, but she hesitated for a moment before heading into the fray. Just surveying the growing chaos that seemed to be spreading street by street, she and Natasha both had a distinct feeling this was not going to end well for them.
"Widower, here," the low voice of the Russian spy ringing out over the comm link Natalie had pinned to the inside of her jacket collar, speaking warily into it. "Guys? What's your twenty. This is pretty big." A pause. "In case that wasn't clear enough, that's code for get here fast."
Without waiting for an answer, she'd run off in the direction of a few burning buildings nearby with screams coming from the inside. People were trapped. They needed her help.
And so, the night began.
