What could possibly go wrong? Where: An empty warehouse in London When: Forward dated to Friday evening, March 9th, 2012 Warnings: TBD, but probably some language & violence
It was an hour later since the designated meeting time and all parties were still present, but even more miraculously, still in tact. If not completely disgruntled. Which only made sense, really. What did you expect to happen when you put leaders from three completely conflicting factions all in one room together, that they'd all get along? Spoiler: They wouldn't get along.
An abandoned warehouse was the setting for this particularly significant scene; significant because even during his brother and his father's most desperate times, they'd never been this careless. Throwing away better plans simply to invite the enemy in for a nice sit down in order to feign discussing terms of peace (for the benefit of those from the Agency present, obviously) and negotiate an exchange of prisoners? Careless. But also not surprising, as he had already proven time and time again that he was nothing like the leaders of Camelot that came directly before him. They were his blood, but that was about the only thing he'd ever had in common with Matthew or Michael Morgan. He wasn't yet sure if that was his greatest weakness or strength, but Daniel was just hoping that carelessness sort of worked in his favor. That was still a more charming quality of his, right?
His one and only wish was to get his sister and Sara Taft back, and he wasn't too proud not to admit to his department heads that he didn't have a vendetta in this once in a lifetime meeting other than that. He assumed that if any of them had a problem with it they would have said so, but they hadn't, and now he was here. Sitting across the table from Kane Lewis and Ames Hargreaves, two men encompassing virtually everything he despised and he was positive they were thinking the same about him. True to his word, the still newly appointed director of the Agency, Philip Anderson and his deputy Caroline Ross were also present, along with a few members of Agency security (presumably for their protection). Daniel couldn't blame them for that, especially since he'd brought along his own.
While Philip and Caroline more or less mediated the meeting, Daniel found it difficult not to continuously glance over at Frost to his right, though somehow he managed. He was comforted enough by her presence at least, and grateful. The entire area inside the room had also been put under a number of enchantments by his remarkably skilled Magics department, rendering it impossible for anyone inside the building's perimeter to inflict supernatural harm on another. Even so, he still felt more than a little unease, which probably meant he wasn't completely crazy just yet. One thing he was though was impatient, and after an hour of going back and forth with the other representatives in the room and (unsurprisingly) reaching no common ground at all, he'd had enough.
"I don't mean to interrupt," Daniel spoke up, cutting Kane Lewis off mid sentence from where he hadn't move from his chair for nearly an hour now, hunched over the table and fingers rubbing at his chin, looking all together bored with the room. "... Actually, that's a lie, I had every intention of interrupting." Even in a serious situation like this, Daniel could be a bit of a brat. It was the Morgan in him? But he was tired of talking. He knew the Agency would rather see something resolved, but the simple fact was, that would never happen over night between Camelot and the Resistance. Or ever, but especially not now that they were both holding hostages. "It's pretty obvious we're not going to agree on much of anything, up to and including what color the damn sky is, so perhaps it's time to finally move on? Unless of course we're not all done having this rather amusing staring contest."
