Who. Sophie Nightingale and Brady Kerrigan What. Sneaking into Happy Endings for Torchwood Where. Happy Endings (Chicago, Illinois) When. Saturday night, February 11th 2012 Warnings. TBD?
While Rose was something of an expert of going undercover (albeit, not always very well), Sophie had never done it before, and she was about as subtle as Rose was. As in, not at all. What she wouldn't give for some psychic paper right about now. She was extremely nervous, and it showed, right up until the point when she actually had to walk in the door and Rose ordered her to calm her shit. And miraculously, she did. Because true to the reincarnate of Rose Tyler, Sophie had the ability to pull herself together and kick some serious ass when she had to. Today wasn't necessarily about kicking ass though, much to their mutual regret. Today, they were going undercover in the name of Torchwood, and they were going undercover in style.
Sophie showed up at the front entrance of Happy Endings at approximately ten o'clock in the morning on the dot in order to speak with the man, Logan Fox, who ran the place. She told him she was interested in being a dancer at his club, so he'd had her audition on the spot. Ever the performer, Sophie played her part to a tee with a sultry rendition of "Don't Tell Mamma" and he told her to come back that same night for her second audition: in front of an audience. Now, Sophie would never admit this but she had a bit of a case of stage fright, but when she came back during business hours that night she managed to get through a few numbers on stage without throwing up. The crowd seemed to agree with her, and she got a decent amount of applause when she finally stepped back behind the curtain and made her way to the female dressing rooms.
"Well that was perfectly humiliating," Sophie grumbled to herself as she stepped inside and picked her way over to her locker. There were clothes and various sequined costumes strewn everywhere, but thankfully at the moment she was completely alone. All the other dancers were either out performing or at the bar, so the hard part suddenly became a lot more easy. "Sterling, are you there?" She hissed into her ear piece, standing in the middle of the room in her costume looking around suspiciously. At Sterling's confirmation she sighed in relief, before jumping at the sound of a light taping at the wall. Shit, Brady. Sophie wasted no time in dashing out of the dressing room and down the short hall to the back exit, pushing the door open as quietly as she could to let her partner in crime in. "Sorry!" She whispered, looking back over her shoulder to make sure no one was coming. "This place is nuts."
