Who: Simone Walcott and Katherine Grace
What: What do two women of such power and grace down when they run in to each other with people such as Emma Frost and Scott Summers living in their heads?
Where: A.O.C. Wine Bar and Restaurant, downtown Los Angeles
When: Friday, February 3, 2012 in the mid-evening
Warnings: Again, I doubt there is a need for any!
Like most evenings, Simone had wrapped up the necessary paperwork, straightened her desk, forwarded her phone calls, and was on her way. Since Scott Summers had made himself known, there was never an evening that she went right home. It was annoying, frustrating, and made her dislike the man even more. She basked in those moments of solitude and silence when she walked through the front door of her spacious home, but he made it difficult to enjoy it like she had for so many years prior.
Handing her keys to the valet, Simone was greeted with the false smiles that everyone in Los Angeles wore. It was practiced, perfected, and made those with a keen eye question their motive. You could not question what those who had lived their lives in LA were up to when they looked at you. Nothing was every what it seemed and everyone always wanted something in return.
Simone was no different and she wasn't ashamed of it, either.
Greeting the middle-aged man, she gave her reservation as she handed the tailored spring coat to another man. "Ah, yes! Miss Walcott. Right this way, please." Passing through, there were a few familiar faces that tossed light waves and quiet greetings to Simone, who returned the gestures in her own elegant fashion. It was always nice to be recognized in public. Who didn't enjoy it?
"Here you are, Miss Walcott. Do enjoy." Taking a seat in the offered chair, Simone took a moment to silence her phone and settled behind the leather-bound menu. Perhaps Fridays would become red wine night.
