Who: Thomas Doyle and Janica Carlile What: Hanging Out, not taking the MTN and accidentally ending up on The Island, thank you very much When: Friday Where: Janica's House
Janica had called Thomas to cancel their plans for the day, which had him both disappointed and confused. Confused because she'd been talking about not wanting to take the MTN since an island had taken it over and who knew what was next. To be honest, it didn't make a lot of sense. Of course, not making a lot of sense, or even any at all, wasn't exactly a deal breaker with Thomas. He was just a little concerned. So instead he'd said he'd come to her place. Hopefully she was okay with that. He'd promised not to go to any islands on the way.
The MTN had stopped making him even the least bit dizzy or disoriented years before. He hopped around on it so much, for work and for the fun of it, if there were any negative effects from long term use, the research department could have just monitored Thomas to check. So far he had just the one head and the two arms, so he felt like it probably wasn't doing him any harm. The only thing he wasn't quite use to was the massive time zone jump. Going from deep night to mid-day took a few seconds to adjust to, but a few blinks and sliding on a pair of sunglasses more or less settled things.
He made his way to her house, showing up less than an hour after their conversation. Pretty good time, all things considered. He knocked on the door and started talking, using the tone that usually meant he was dealing with a case that might throw something at him or try to go out the window. "Hey Jan, it's me. Everything okay?"
