WHO: Chase and Alyssa WHEN: Sunday, November 27, 3 PM WHERE: One of the billion Starbucks in New York City WHAT: Getting coffee and talking. Or, you know, not.
So, Chase wasn't totally sure about this. Getting an impromptu visit from Charley brought up his spirits a little, but the nerves were starting to come in again. For one, he was a virgin guy who didn't date much and was still a bit wary about it (but not, in his opinion, without good reason). For another, Alyssa flustered the hell out of him, and he wasn't sure how he felt about that.
The fact that their respective head mates were apparently awake and intrigued didn't help much. On one hand, meeting Carol's one night stand for a date (was this a date?) was kind of awkward. On the other, at least it wasn't a Simon Williams reincarnate. Nothing said "disaster" quite as fast as getting cozy with the ex-boyfriend who switched alignments like a girl changed clothes. Really, he could have done worse.
Chase tugged on a jacket and made his way to the Starbucks closest to the Baxter building. Was the right one? What if he needed to go to one of the million other Starbucks locations in the city? Shit, he should check on that again. He puffed out a breath of air and elected to wait for a little bit anyway. Worst came to worse, and he had the wrong spot. It wasn't a huge deal. He could get to another one fast...if no one were watching, anyway.
Meeting up for coffee and not talking about why he wasn't a fan of the holidays. Sure sounded like a date to him. Crap.
