Who. Cora Jenkins and Caleb Ripley What. A little rendezvous at the Eiffel Tower post-killing Where. Paris, France When. Backdated to late Sunday night, September 11th 2011 Warnings. All the appropriate Dexter/Lumen warnings
Tonight was the night. Or rather, it was the last night they were here with the Cirque in Paris. After a full weekend of jam packed shows, Caleb and Cora's work still wasn't done, but the other carnies didn't know that. As far as they knew the Magician and his assistant had wandered off for some much needed alone time, and technically, they had. But they also had something to do before they left France, and that was track down a victim.
It was easy enough with both Caleb and Dexter's know-how. A native French man named Adrien Marchal, he'd been the main suspect in five different rape cases but never convicted because of convenient alibis. His last victim? Turned up dead on the river bank of the Seine, and still no one could prove his guilt enough to put him away for good. It wasn't big, but it was a decent start, and practice made perfect.
They waited until an opportune moment and took him, with no witnesses around to see them muscle him into his own house and after that? It's anyone's guess but the three people who were in there. Caleb showed her how to do it right just like Dexter had shown Lumen, and afterward they'd disposed of the body together, weighed it down and tossed it into the river a few miles from his home.
Now it was fast approaching two A.M. and Cora was wired. She couldn't sleep even if she'd wanted to, her blood was still pumping from the deed they'd done and she couldn't get her body to stop buzzing. As they approached the underside of the Eiffel Tower, deciding to do a little private sight seeing before leaving in the morning, she tilted her head up into the center of it and did a slow spin. "Wow, that's tall. We're not really going to climb up there are we?"
