Who. Star Dinozzo Tony Stark and Logan Fox.
What. The God of Mischief aids the Man of Science, much to the latter's dismay.
Where. Tony's Penthouse.
When. September 1st, early morning.
Warnings. Language on Tony's part. Sarcasm. A constant need to outmatch the other.
Star didn't remember much from the accident. In fact, she was having a fair amount of trouble recollecting her own name. Not a good sign and Tony knew it. Of course, that was only natural after you'd just gone and sustained injuries from an explosion. That he knew a little too well. Daze and a nice, heaping helping of confusion? That was normal. Waking up from the attack? Slightly more normal. However, waking up to the familiar hum of something metallic and technological coursing through your system? Tony Stark couldn't say that he'd been expecting that. Ever again.
He'd hoped that the reason for all this was that Star's entire existence consisted of a bad hangover and a lot of excess painkillers. Perhaps he'd hit his head underneath one of his cars and imagined all of this reincarnation crap. Rhodey and Pepper would probably be standing at his bedside, Jarvis would say something snide, back a butler, and no longer a talking computer. Everything would be right as rain. Tomorrow, he could be back on his own two feet again and no one called Rebecca or Xander or Star would have ever existed in his life.
Thanks, Tony. I'll be sure to remember that.
One eye opened and Tony saw the familiar room he'd set up for the more medical purposes in the past. He searched through the blurry haze of his vision and saw no one else. There appeared to be no sign of a glaring redhead or a grumpy best friend. Instead, there was unfamiliarity, disorientation, and - Tony looked down at his chest, still very much the chest that belonged to Star Dinozzo. Only now, there was a bonus feature, perched in the center, glowing up at him from behind material. Both eyes snapped open, at attention. "A-ah, no! No, okay, that's, uh. That's new. Ish." His voice came out crackled, thick with the remnants of a deep sleep. Things were coming into focus again, but both his hands thrust down on the arms of the examination chair. Star's hair was pulled back in a high ponytail that flopped this way and that as Tony looked around anxiously.
Wires were stuck to several places of her arms and a heart rate monitor chirped into life. Tony felt tired, sore, and an aggravation he never thought possible. Fate, or destiny, or whatever the fuck she was calling herself these days? Was one cruel bitch. Her jokes needed a little work. Sit down! You're not going to help anything! We need to focus! There wasn't much to focus on. Not when history was too busy repeating itself. Tony breathed in sharply through his nose. "Good morning, ma'am. Might I say that it is wonderful to see you awake once more."
"Cut the crap, JARVIS. It's me."
"Welcome back, sir. Shall I inform Mr. Fox of your return?"
Tony stopped, chin propped up instantly. "...Mr. Fox?"
...Tony, what did you do?
