Everything was more or less going according to Grace's plan. She'd managed to track down Laura Meyhew several days ago, after her rumored resignation from Camelot a few weeks prior and they'd struck a deal. Grace Cash may not appear to be many things, just a lowly receptionist or little more than a foot soldier for the Resistance, but in reality she was a lot more than that. She and Cindy together made one insanely competent, sometimes extremely dangerous and unpredictable spy, and so far they'd always gotten what they wanted. Even so, the game they'd been playing lately was a little more dangerous than most and even they knew when they needed to play it more safe than sorry in order to stay alive. Staying alive was her one and only goal, something she needed to do in order to complete her mission, and fortunately for her not double crossing Camelot wasn't a requirement in her books. Her loyalty was to the Agency, to Black Ops more precisely, and that meant that she got to live without rules, more or less.
So when Laura Meyhew made the short trip to Fabletown on this Tuesday night, not far from her own place in New York, she had no idea that she was about to get played too. Grace felt a little guilty about it, but she really had no feelings for Camelot. None good anyway, especially since she found out they'd sucked her sister in. That just gave Grace even more reason to fuck them over, and if it helped her to do her job and get in better with the crazy people she was pretending to work for? All the better for it. Little miss Meyhew would just have to deal.
It was already well past dark when Laura finally made an appearance at the end of Bullfinch Street. Grace was already at their designated meeting place, waiting in the shadows behind Web n' Muffet's Market, the store previously owned by Little Miss Muffet and her arachnid husband, Mr. Web. Not so much anymore, and for the past few weeks Fabletown had been more of a ghost town than anything else, even Grace had noticed that much, but that wasn't why she was here. She was here to play a part. So when Laura finally approached her, Grace was no longer the eager Agency employee looking for inside info. She was a hostile member of the Resistance and one of Willa Thompson's information gatherers, not something anybody would question looking in on this particular scene. That much Laura had already been prepared for so when Grace pointed a gun to her head and demanded information that she already had, Laura knew to act scared.
"Don't lie to me, Meyhew. My employer, she's not gonna like it if you lie, if you know what I'm sayin'!" That much was true, Willa Thompson wasn't a woman Grace wanted to cross anytime soon, at least not alone. Even she wasn't that stupid. She also wasn't stupid enough to drop her cold Resistance act while on the job anywhere in the public eye, so she only stepped it up when Laura attempted to draw her light saber. "Don't even try it, blondie," Grace snapped through her teeth, inwardly a little unnerved at herself that she could fall into the act so easily. "Tell me what I want to know in the next five seconds. You're gettin' shot either way but how fast you give me what I want depends on how painfully slow your death is."
