Who. Jake Webb and Julian Kingsley
What. After months of wreaking delinquent havoc, Jake and Julian face up to some hard truths about their situation
Where. The (still) abandoned amusement park in NorCal
When. Thursday night, July 7th 2011
Warnings. Not your typical night with Julian and Jake. Less destruction, more cute. You know, for a couple of glassy eyed sociopaths
It was already close to sunset when Jake and Julian slipped through the gates of the abandoned amusement park and made their way to their secret spot. This had become something of a regular thing for them, not that Jake was complaining. For so long they hadn't had anywhere to go to really escape from all that annoyed them in the world, at some point Jake always had to go home or they always had to go back to Robert's fucking castle in Albanania or whatever the hell it was called. Jake could never remember and he was still half convinced that Robert made up the name. Not important. The point was, Jake and Julian finally had a place of their own that no one else could touch, it was just theirs, and in the very same place their journey together had first begun.
The park had been abandoned for months. On that fateful day when they'd first met Jake and Julian had more or less destroyed it from the inside out, and apparently the owner and city officials just hadn't seen the point in attempting to rebuild it in the state it was currently in. Fine by them since they got a club house out of it. Sure it was a little morbid that they'd not only set up camp in the old fun house that no longer ran, but the same fun house that they'd killed Jake's step-sister in, but if you knew Jake and Julian then you'd know that really wasn't the type of thing to bother them. In fact, not much bothered them at all except for stupid people and anything not flammable. So what did they do when they wanted to escape from it all? They came here.
Jake was always glad for the time alone with Julian. Even if after all these months he still had a hard time admitting it, the guy had gotten under his skin in a way that no one else ever had. Or ever would. Jake was painfully aware that this was a one time only deal, there wasn't going to be another Julian. Not in a million years or more could anyone else even come close to what he was. The thought that he had no control over his immortal life span and Julian's extremely mortal one made Jake constantly moody (not that moody was such a big personality change for him) when no one else was around. Julian was more then enough of a distraction to keep Jake occupied but he wasn't always there. And when he wasn't? That familiar dark cloud loomed over Jake's head, and the fact that he was feeling anything at all (which he also never readily admitted to) only made his perpetual state of gloom worse.
They'd been here for a couple hours now and Julian had gone out to pilfer a pack of smokes. Jake decided to use the time wisely by reclining on the couch they'd stolen out of some rich lady's living room and occupy himself with throwing darts at the poster of Hillary Clinton taped to the opposite wall. Beyond the couch there was a table and some mismatched chairs, a few candles, some cheesy wall decorations, a stereo that was always in use and a strange assortment of weapons, tools and explosives that they always found a use for... Aside from this room in the fun house there were tunnels and mazes of mirrors but right in here, it was the perfect little nook for two guys that didn't want for much but took whatever they could anyway. The music they'd had going was blaring so loud that Jake didn't hear Julian come back in and barely missed him as he threw another dart that whizzed right past his ear. "... Whoops."
