Who: Devon McBride
What: Letting her inner Endless out
When: Sunday
Where: A cemetery

The month had gone by in a blur. So busy, so very busy.

It was raining, appropriately. A cold mist fell from the steel gray sky. She was dressed in black, as usual, but also appropriate. Devon was at another funeral. The last one, for a little while anyway. She stood there, more as Death than as herself, so people rarely noticed her. It was easier that way.

She didn't have to be there. Not technically, anyway. They went whenever they could though, when reincarnates died, simply to mark the passing, and to make sure that both souls were freed. Devon didn't know how that was done. She would just breath and hold her ankh, and then it was like she took a half-step into another plain. Later she'd find herself back in the church or cemetery, or even at her office or alone in her apartment. She never remembered what had happened, and she was fine with that.

It was funny, really. If any reincarnate had come to her or one of her caretakers saying they lost large chunks of time or found themselves places without knowing how they got there, she would have said they had a major problem. She trusted Death though, so she let it happen. Somethings just needed to be done. Besides, Devon had never claimed to be a good example, she just promised to always be there to help. That always simply went a little longer than most people would ever realize.
