There was no denying that he had crossed the line he had been trying to find a way across, but it was his own impulsiveness that had shocked him. Then again as her arms came around his neck and she kissed him back, he knew that he hadn’t fucked up his life again. There were many mistakes he had made in the years before and after the Ans virus and the biggest mistake he had thought he might make was in the end no mistake at all. Leaning into the kiss, he felt more than just her lips and tongue and arms and hands, he felt her and he knew right then that nothing else would be enough.
As she pulled away, Grey was quickly pausing making sure that he wasn’t making an ass out of himself. As the words left her lips though, he knew she felt the same. “If you are, then I am too. And I always will be.” He said with a half-smile, while pulling her back to him. He just needed to kiss her once more before they ‘talked’ because he guessed it might be a long and extremely important conversation and although he was willing to have it with her, he was not willing to wait through it for another taste.
These situations were the exact times her was happy to have the muscle tone he did from farming, as instead of moving toward her, he just brought her to him. Leaning back into the sycamore, he brought her with him and kissed her again. This time though, it was slower and less rushed. The plus side of knowing there was time to be had.
