Demeter appreciated the gesture from Hera but she was feeling volatile to say the least and nearly shrugged her sister off. "What do you mean come to the gathering? You've known where my daughter is as well?" That's right- her daughter, not their daughter. She was instantly angry at both of them for keeping it from her- even if they had not actually met until today. She was ripping her hand back from Poseidon, although she appreciated his supporting her, when Zeus nudged them. She was not ready to drop the topic but there was little she could do against his power- which was clearly more developed than her own.
"This is not-" she tried to argue- but it clearly was over. This time her fingers did find Poseidon's hand and she gripped them hard, her will struggling against their brother's. She didn't care about Cronus or the other pantheons! She wanted to know where Persephone was!
With little other choice she begrudgingly joined the new conversation, though her jaw was tight and her voice not nearly as easy. "I've changed," she looked back at Jeremiah. "Alice's influence as we- grew together- or whatever happened- has changed aspects of who I am, or how I feel. Maybe it's not enough for him but it's possible. Things have changed."
