Who: Imogen (Seshat) and Samuel (Thoth) What: Late night coffee and a divine reunion. Kind of. Where: Starlight Diner. When: Thursday night, close to Eleven O' Clock
Imogen wasn't a fan of the late shift. She didn't do them often, usually because it was a little difficult to fit it in around her family commitments. But she had agreed to come in tonight, in the understanding that she could get tomorrow off to go to the party at Lydia's. Still, at least it was quiet. In fact, the metal booths with their red leather seats and metal tables were only occupied by one person - a man who looked like he was steeling himself to go into work for a similar shift to Imogen's own.
The lack of customers had left her free to sit behind the counter and read her book. Imogen was completely lost to the outside world, her head full of the images painted by the words on the page, so she started when the bell above the door rang to signal a newcomer. The young woman looked up sharply, noticed the man taking his seat and did her best not to give a vaguely exasperated sigh. They always come in when she was reaching a crucial point in the story. Marking her page with an old reciept, she grabbed a notebook and smoothed down the apron she wore over her mint green uniform before hurrying over to serve him.
"Hi!" She offered a smile that was much perkier than she really felt. He was quite attractive, she noticed, in an older-guy kind of way, and for some reason she couldn't help but give him a second look. "What can I get you tonight? Tea? Coffee?"
