Who: Lucas Gray and Abigail Campton
When: Monday, March 12, 2012 - Early Morning
Where: New York Public Library, Spencer Collection; Lucas' office
What: Abigail brings Lucas breakfast, but Aphrodite is sure to have a few things to say about a certain unawakened Athena...
This was one of the perks about working at a twenty-four hour diner. When the morning crew arrived, you were usually rewarded with freshly made breakfast items, and the first cup of brewed coffee as you walked out the door. Abigail had two that morning as she clocked out from her late night shift along with a breakfast sandwich, some mixed fruit, a single-serving box of Rice Krispies, a small carton of milk, and a few other items.
She was careful with carting her items into the library, hiding the bag inside of her purse before making her way back toward Lucas' office. She wasn't able to bring him breakfast often, but when she could, she made a habit of doing so. Most of the people Abigail had come to know and befriend in the city were long-standing patrons of the diner. Whether it was early in the morning, stopping in for a quick lunch, drowning their hung over sorrows in a coffee at two in the morning, or just grabbing a slice of pie, Abigail had come to know nearly each and every one as they came and left.
Things continued to be different, though, with the awakened Aphrodite making her presence more and more apparent. It was still difficult to keep a hold of herself when the goddess demanded her time, but Abigail was getting better at keeping a firm hold of herself. Regardless, Abigail was coming to find that there were times when Aphrodite's presence was greatly appreciated. In turn, both were learning to work together during those moments. It was going to be a long process, though. Especially when Aphrodite seemed to find an attractive individual whom she was compelled to play with.
Which was exactly what she wanted to do with an attractive man who was passing them by as they continued to Lucas' office. Late thirties, distinguished, glasses; Abigail could feel Aphrodite practically drooling.
No! If she could have, Abigail would have slapped Aphrodite's hands. Luckily, for Abigail, Lucas' office was just at the end of the hallway. Rolling her eyes at the faint pouting of the goddess, she gave a few knocks before opening Lucas' door with a smile.
"I think it's been kind of long since we last had a breakfast picnic. Hank made you his famous breakfast sandwich just like you like it." Holding up the bag, Abigail helped herself to a chair. Aphrodite; however, was carefully eying Lucas, and not because he looked adorable in his glasses.
