"That would be me. Or pie fairy as that seems to be the flavor of the week." Giving a light laugh, she made a faint gesture to her name tag. 'Abigail' was displayed on a sticker tag that was stuck to the name tag plate. She had taken the liberty to line the top of it with glittery heart stickers. Below her name were three gold stars showing off her experience at the diner.
Taking note of the requested drink, Abigail gave him another grin. "Nice to meet you, Thomas. So, that's one slice of apple pie and one coffee, black." Holding out a hand for the menu, she would collect it once it was handed over. "Shouldn't be too long. I'll be right back with your coffee."
The diner wasn't overly crowded and held many familiar faces, at least to Abigail. She wasn't gone but for a few minutes, only stopping to re-fill another table's round of coffee before returning to Thomas' table. Setting down a rather retro coffee mug balanced neatly on a saucer, she filled the cup with the requested beverage. "So, Thomas Dean, I don't think I've seen you in here before. Or at least not often enough to recognize your face."
Light chit chat never hurt anyone and this man, slightly familiar to the point of becoming frustrating, looked like he needed a few moments of a casual exchange. "Anything exciting bringing you here today?" She refrained from pushing too far, but her curiosity was killing her. Bad Valentine's Day night? Morning? Both day and night?
